MTT strategy post link from Chad C. (aka KOD)

I thought this was pretty outline for a MTT strategy if you don't have one or are thinking of re-tooling one you already have.

Reading, not much playing

I have been reading during the week and not much playing. Too much to do at home I guess.

I did find another interesting blog from my favorite place (outside of Kerry) - 20K mission. A very uplifting blog that should give all of us micro mission players hope that you can move up with a little work and patience. His advice is great, IMO, on bankroll management especially with what levels to play. I also like his choice of poison - HE and PLO8.

With the upcoming deadline/due date in the US (7/13/07) for the Justice regulations on how to implement the Internet funding ban, I decided to load up a little this week. Your welcome gift2go.net!

If you are using the prepaid VISA route, you might want to do the same. Gift2go is issued by a US bank (Marshall bank out of South Dakota) that will probably be shut down once the regulations issue - at least that is my take on the situation.

Don't chase the draws and for God's sake, don't chase the low in PLO8 even if it is the nut low with counterfeit protection!

2/4 No Limit Crushed me

I haven't updated the results yet, but hopefully soon/tonight. The first night wasn't bad, started of with normal PStars bullshit AK lost to A7, AK lost to AJ, QQ lost to KJ, and KK lost to AQ. Believe me when I say I understand statistics, variance, and statistical runs/streaks etc, but everyone I know shouldn't see these freaky types of streaks in such short sample periods. I think most of the problem comes from generally remembering the bad variance and not the good, plus you remember the variance that knocked you out versus the one that just changed your chip stack less drastically. Still, I - and others - have keep pretty accurate statistics on what is happening to us and basically we are all in a shitty streak.

For me (similar to the others) over the last 2+ months I am approx. 18% for hitting my flush after the flop (yea, thats whether I played or folded the only filter is obviously if the turn and river were actually dealt) and approx. 13.5% for hitting my straight when open ended. On the other side of the fence (less accurate statistics because I didn't pay as much attention to my opponents and didn't always get to see what they had if they folded), it seems like the heroes are getting the flush and straights in the low 40s.

Rigged - not likely: Seeded - possible but not likely: Run of negative variance at critical times (and selective memory) - YOU ARE GODDAMN RIGHT!

Anyways, took a 1st and 2nd out of 6 single table SNGs and a couple of bucks off the ring games on PStars.

Next, I tried 4 tabling limit Hold em games on Full tilt. Clear some bonus and made about $10 bucks, but it was too much given my puny single screen set up. Obviously, the 22" LCD is on its way (thanks to badbeat for helping to pick it out) and should be here Thursday.

That was early Friday before the real fun started. Stay tuned for more details ...

UltimateBet and the 5 site challenge

Ok, the deal is I deposit 150 at 5 sites (Pstars, Absolute, Full Tilt, UltimateBet, and Bodog) to see what I can do with it in 1 year with updates on this site. Simple enough.

Signed up for ultimatebet yesterday and wanted to log at least a couple of hands at limit holdem. I quit after 30 minutes up .47 with some bonus worked off. Then I noticed the Roshambo button. WTF??.

I, like an idiot decided to play. Only one table going at the time. A guy against the BOT (imho). He finishes and I step up. They tried to get me to default a dollar bet but i said no way amigo only .30.

Long story short, the idiot BOT crushed me and I only won 1 out of 12 matches. Please, I am not that bad at picking a random option out of 3 choices such that I lose 11 of 12??????
